Brisbane’s eagerly anticipated Bridge to Brisbane fun run is gearing up to take over the streets of Hamilton this September, offering participants a scenic 5km course that showcases some of the city’s most iconic landmarks.
Course Highlights
The race will commence at Hercules Street Park, leading runners and walkers along the picturesque Kingsford Smith Drive. The route then loops through Bowen Hills before a final descent towards the historic Brisbane Showgrounds, where participants will cross the finish line amidst a vibrant Race Village atmosphere.
Start Times and Zones
Participants will be allocated to specific start zones based on their bib colour and chosen activity to ensure a smooth start for all. At 10:00 a.m., elite runners will set off first, then other runners and joggers. Walkers, including those with prams or wheelchairs, will begin their journey at 10:10 a.m.
Accessibility and Inclusion
Organisers have taken steps to make the event accessible to all. Participants using everyday wheelchairs are welcome in the Pink Walker Start Zone. Those wishing to compete in an Elite Wheelchair category should contact the organisers directly. Companion Card holders can also request a free entry for their support worker.
Transport and Logistics
Free public transport is encouraged, and MacArthur Avenue in Hamilton is the recommended drop-off location. Detailed course maps and elevation profiles are available online to help participants plan their race strategy.
General entry costs $59 per person and closes on 6 September, or earlier if sold out. Late registrations can be made in person at the Race Office on September 7th until midday. Children in preschools can participate for free.
The Bridge to Brisbane fun run promises a memorable day for individuals and families. It promotes fitness and community spirit against Brisbane’s stunning cityscape.
