Held during International Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the event will run from 8am to 12pm at the Hamilton Neighbourhood Activities Centre at 68 Oxford Street. Locals are encouraged to wear pink on the day, while residents can also decorate their homes and gardens during October.

The morning will combine fundraising with a program of activities, including cake, pre-loved goods, plants and produce stalls, alongside a barbecue and Devonshire morning tea. A Wellness Hub will also be held at St Luke’s Community Hall, adding an exercise session to the morning’s programme.
Pink Puppy Parade returns

The Pink Puppy Parade will take place at 9am, with children and their dressed-up dogs able to enter for $2. The event listing also states that prizes will be available for the parade, adding another feature to the morning’s programme.
Music will form another part of the event, including a 10am performance by Hamilton State School students. Violinist Liz Young will also provide roving entertainment, moving through the event during the morning.

Children will have their own activities to explore, including activities facilitated by HSS PCYC and a treasure hunt. The programme also includes food and community stalls, giving visitors several activities to move between during the four-hour event.
Health coach Deb Edwards will lead a 30-minute exercise class from 8am at the Wellness Hub at St Luke’s Community Hall. The session costs $15 and is described by the event organisers as suitable for a range of fitness levels.
Fundraising for breast cancer organisations

Money raised at the Pink Party will support three breast cancer organisations: Be Uplifted Inc North Brisbane Breast Cancer Charity, Breast Cancer Network Australia and Cancer Council Australia.
A small portion of the funds raised will also support Hamilton Neighbourhood Hub’s future community initiatives. The Hub is volunteer-run, according to the event information supplied by the organisation.
The fundraising will take place alongside the morning’s programme of stalls, performances, food and children’s activities, giving the event both a community and fundraising focus.
The Pink Party will be held on Saturday, October 10, from 8am to noon at the Hamilton Neighbourhood Activities Centre, 68 Oxford Street, Hamilton. Locals are encouraged to wear pink, while residents can also decorate their homes and gardens during October.
