OktoberFEAST Returns to Eat Street Northshore for Six Nights of Bavarian Fun

If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to break out the lederhosen, OktoberFEAST at Eat Street Northshore is back this Friday — and it’s bringing pork knuckles, imported German brews and a full oompah band with it.

Running across two weekends — Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September, and Friday 2 to Sunday 4 October — the annual Bavarian-themed event transforms Hamilton’s beloved riverside precinct into a little slice of Munich. Six nights, nine exclusive dishes and roughly a dozen imported German beers make this one of the more ambitious seasonal events on Eat Street’s calendar.

The food offering this year leans heavily into the spirit of the occasion. At Poulet & Porc, chef Peter Dressler is serving a slow-roasted pork knuckle cooked in German pilsner, while Smash Mamas’ Natasha Medwedew is plating up a Jägerschnitzel Burger with a Rémy Martin cognac gravy. Both dishes are billed as limited-time Bavarian specials, available across the event’s run only.

Beyond those headline acts, eight other vendors across the precinct are joining in. Arancini Bros is doing a schnitzel gnocchi, Baked & Loaded is serving German potatoes with sauerkraut, and The Original Langos has classic Munich pretzels on the menu. Kombi Alley is offering a signature cronut pretzel, Nawty Nuts is doing a hot cone of Gebrannte Mandeln (a German-style roasted sweet nut), First Bite is serving beer-battered onion rings, and for those steering clear of alcohol, Miss Flossy has a non-alcoholic butterbeer on offer.

Entertainment runs across all six nights, with oompah bands, alpine bells, stilt walkers, brass acts and DJs keeping the energy going along the waterfront.

Entry is covered by Eat Street’s standard admission, with Bavarian dishes and drinks priced and ordered separately. That means you also still have access to the precinct’s usual lineup of more than 60 vendors — so if your companion isn’t quite feeling the schnitzel, they won’t go hungry.

Eat Street Northshore sits at 221D MacArthur Avenue in Hamilton, with the Northshore Hamilton ferry terminal just a 250-metre walk from the precinct — making the CityCat a handy option for getting there and back.

OktoberFEAST runs Friday to Sunday, 25–27 September and 2–4 October 2026. Standard Eat Street entry applies; Bavarian dishes and German beers are priced individually. Prost.
